AFRICA’S YOUNG WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION NETWORK
AYWEEN is the leading community of top women executives, entrepreneurs, and emerging executives in Africa and other parts of the world on a mission to increase the number of women in leadership positions. The membership organization connects, develops, and advocates for the advancement of women in the workplace by offering regular leadership development programs and networking opportunities, promoting gender-diversity and equality initiatives. TIF supports girls’ leadership programs, as well, to help build a well-qualified workforce for the future.
OWN is committed to advancing women’s and girls’ leadership development.
We aim to develop thousands of women through our high impact women’s leadership development programs, including the public Women’s Leadership Experience and many custom-designed programs. Around Africa and the world, we are working with girls to help them realize the immense leadership potentials they have.
African Women’s Leadership Innovation Lab (WLI Lab) to bring together men and women who share the same passion to brainstorm innovative solutions to today’s leadership challenges.
Objectives are to:
A: Allow women unleash the leadership within, get involved in decision-making processes
R: Reinvent what it means to be a leader, by asking “How do we change the definition of
leadership so that it becomes gender-inclusive and unconstrained by male definitions?
I: Initiate partnerships and conversations, by exploring the headlines we’ll see in five years if
women have strong networks
S: Support women and girls by providing spaces to learn to lead, by creating and designing
such spaces for women and or girls.
E: Engage and educating others about their role in creating an enabling environment that liberates
Women’s and girls’ leadership potential, by examining what men, governments, organizations,
and the media can do to champion women’s and girls’ leadership.
• Raising awareness on women leadership issues.
• Creating a network opportunity for men and women leaders.
• Helping organizations hear from women and better understand their needs.
• Informing the design of other women leadership initiatives.
